Smalltalk ─ Mai 2015 We Are Hubris

Smalltalk mit Harry von We Are Hubris aus Scarborough, UK.

Please introduce yourself…

I’ve been working on and off at We Are Hubris for around two years, releasing a capsule collection here and there, this release marks our first set of consistent releases and we’ll be introducing a new item every fortnight for the foreseeable so keep your eyes peeled @wearehubris

Do you work alone or do you collaborate with others? Any collaborations planned?

As a brand we work alone, there’s no collaborations planned at the moment but in the future we’d love to collaborate with some of the big players: The Hundreds, Quiet Life and Stussy.

How important is music while working on new stuff? What music is playing right now?

Music is a massive part of what we do, a huge variety plays when we’re designing.

What music is playing right now?

At the moment we’re listening to „B.4.DA.$$“ Joey Badass’ latest album, „Mr Wonderful“, Action Bronson’s newest offering and „Carry on the Grudge“ by Jamie T.

Name a current „anti-trend“.

Our favourite current anti trend for us as has got to be the all over prints from head to toe, you can see from our lookbook that we’re a massive fan, the Ren and Stimpy shorts shirt bucket hat is an unquestionable combination.

Great labels we should know about?

Except for us? Kit Neale releases some crazy stuff that is definitely worth a look, they recently did an old school Coca Cola collab that had some great staple items. At a more reasonable price point Lazy Oaf have lots of graphic heavy stuff and some enviable collaborations.

Great blogs we should visit?

I used to do the rounds of the usuals, HighSnobiety, HypeBeast and SlamxHype but there’s so much negativity in the reactions, alongside the trolling and paid advertising it’s hard to sift through to the good quality stuff. I’m still a big fan of The Hundreds but my favourite source has got to be Instagram, quick to consume and so much variety.

Your bestseller?

Our bestseller this release has been the Ren and Stimpy buckets, with summer on the way, as well as festival season these have been a firm favourite.
